Franck Zayan, the president of e-commerce at Conde Nast, recently discussed plans for a large line of e-commerce products coming from the major publishing brand.

According to Racked, Conde Nast will begin offering these products by next year. There will be thousands of products offered, and as Zayan states, it will ideally be anything presented in the magazine that available through the e-commerce initiative.

“The entire transaction process from reading about a product through checkout will be owned by Condé Nast Commerce, and the company is hiring developers, engineers, and more staffers to build out this vision. The fact that Condé is starting late in e-commerce is actually an advantage, according to Zayan, because they can learn from previous failed attempts.”

Editors will also be in line with the e-commerce initiative from the start, which is typically a hard process to undertake as editors often feel apprehension about product offerings.
