A recent article from Media Life Magazine discusses the Global Web Index’s new report on worldwide media consumption, which shares that mobile is growing faster than any other form of media.

According to the article, “Thirty percent of time spent online goes to mobile, up sharply from 22 percent  in 2012.”

This increase in mobile usage is primarily attributed to smartphone and “phablets”, which can pose as serious competitors to tablets.

Jason Mander, the author of the report and the head of trends at Global Web Index, believes that this increase in mobile may become even more significant when the new Apple iPhone is released in September.

The article continues by reporting that, “The new iPhone is expected to have a bigger screen, mimicking competitors like the Samsung Galaxy, which is sized somewhere between a traditional phone and a tablet.”
