Have you turned to native ads for your publication? eMarketer is reporting on some data from Mixpo that shows the use of native ads by publishers.

According to the stats:

-53.5% of US publishers who responded to the study offer a native advertising solution.

-6.9% said they don’t currently have a native advertising solution in place, but they are planning to offer it within the year.

-12.1% said they don’t offer a native advertising solution but plan to offer it within the next five years.

Ultimately, this study shows that over 72% of respondents have interest in offering native advertising. From the standpoint of ad buying, the eMarketer article also shares how 73% of media buyers used native ads in May 2014.

Clearly, there is a reciprocal relationship here. And eMarketer also shares data from Mintel on how much is being spent on native advertising. “The market research provider estimated that US native ad spending came in at $1.3 billion in 2013 and expected this to rise drastically through 2018, when it would reach $9.4 billion.”
