    I don’t run a business, so the initial language and titles of these ebooks didn’t really appeal to me. I do, however have a very small blog that I would like to grow and somehow monetize. This book was full of useful information even for me as a beginner. In fact, just 3 pages in, when they start talking about where web traffic comes from, I was thinking “Yes! This IS what I need”! Some of the big buzzwords in internet advertising are a snore for non-marketing people (rapid conversion, OFIE) but once you can get past that, the book is extremely easy to read and understand for a layperson. They also show real examples of the strategies they’re talking about so you can get a feel for what it looks like or in some cases, what NOT to do. A large portion of the book explains strategies for email marketing which doesn’t apply to me as a blogger but would be so valuable to a business owner. I do some volunteer work for a nonprofit and I can see where those strategies would fit in.

    I’m trying to keep my review general so that I don’t give away their specific tips, but there is a ton of information in this ebook. I know a few concrete things I can start doing right now such as recycling content, creating a downloadble, and having a set of keywords to use consistently. Rather than relying on words and good ideas, I have a more solid sense of what I need to do and create in order to drive and keep an audience. You’ll be able to use the tips here whether you are a business owner, an employee tasked with email list or marketing duties, a nonprofit, or a blogger trying to get off the ground.

    You had me from the landscaping scenario, which spelled out how basic and yet how important audience development is to any business.
    There were a number of hints, tips, and examples of practices I had learned in the past, but either have gotten away from or didn’t give enough time to (the power of keywords and presence of freemiums, for example). I feel inspired to put renewed focus and effort into these practices, and I feel more equipped to incorporate various pieces of the larger operation into play (ie. OFIE, text ads, multiple tools for cultivating a relationship that is also consumer and provider, within the social media community we already have).
    I think one sentence in this resource that really sums up the truth of all the valuable information shared here is, “If you want a click, or if you want someone to download a product in exchange for their email address, even if it’s free, you have to work for it.” Thank you for this truly insightful resource!
