New Google Instant Feature Allows You to Preview Search Results

A new way Google is working to create a quicker search experience

Ever having difficulty deciding between search results? I know I have experienced this issue.

Google premiered its new Instant Previews this week to better assist searchers. Now, before clicking on a search result, people conducting searches can hover over or click on the magnifying glass icon; doing so will allow the user to see a screenshot of the website in question. This gives the user a glimpse into the page’s content before actually going to the site.

Where Google Instant Preview is really helpful is in locating the specific keyword, image or graph your searching for. The preview search box that appears when the magnifying glass is utilized specifically shows the search term. This will help searchers decide quickly whether or not the page contains the content they are looking for.

In terms of search, it appears that Google Instant Preview will help decision making go much smoother.

According to an article from Mashable, “Google’s internal testing shows that people using Instant Previews are 5% more likely to be satisfied with the search results they click.”

5% is a big number for a major player like Google.
