YouTube and The New York Times, two major digital publishers, have new updated apps for its audiences. Talking New Media has the story on these updates.

YouTube is bringing a new change to its apps for iOS and Android with Music Key beta. According to its website, the monthly subscription service provides ad-free music, background play and offline viewing. The subscription to YouTube Music Key beta also gives access to Google Play Music, with its curated playlists and 30+ million songs.

NYT Cooking — Recipes from The New York Times received an update as well. App users have experienced issues with this app initially, which may have been due to an iOS update at the time of its release. This is the third update the app has received since it was released in September.
