Although Bonnier Corp. played a major role in developing Mag+, the Swedish publishing company is moving its U.S. properties off of that platform and onto the Adobe DPS.

Folio: reports that the change in app platforms is due to Mag+’s shift to a model that includes predominantly corporate applications for sales, marketing, internal communications, and training purposes.

“Although we are, of course, personally disappointed to lose Mag+’s first brand, Popular Science, Bonnier Corp is an entirely independent business from Mag+, and we recognize that many factors come into play when making these decisions,” Mag+ CEO Gregg Hano (a former VP at Bonnier) tells Folio:. “From a business perspective, the impact is negligible. Mag+ has nearly 3,000 apps spanning both traditional publishing as well as business communications.”

Michael Rondon writes that Bonnier currently has upward of 30 magazine apps.
