For Internet marketers, this could be a great opportunity to see how the influx of shoppers will receive your apps for mobile devices.

According to a recent article from eMarketer, “51% of consumers say they are more likely to buy from retailers that have a mobile site. “

Unfortunately for most retailers, there is a lack of mobile sites on the market.

In fact, 80% of multichannel retailers do not have a mobile presence and fewer than 25% of marketers have a mobile-optimized site.

Since consumers are showing interest in mobile sites, and the majority is saying they are more likely to buy from retailers with a mobile site, the time looks right for online marketers to seriously consider a mobile presence if their audience is showing interest.

Mobile websites might be the most beneficial for retailers dealing with high-ticket prices. A good mobile site will allow consumers to research before deciding on purchasing such items.

The Apple vs Flash controversy has meant that lots of material has to be formatted two different ways. This should be resolved soon.
