Stephen Lacy has been named as the new chairman of the board for the Association of Magazine Media, or MPA.

Stephen Lacy is the CEO and chairman of Meredith Corporation, who was initially elected to the position of CEO on July 1, 2006. He became the chairman in January of 2010.

Mary Berner, the president and CEO at MPA, shared her thoughts on Lacy in an article from Media Bistro stating, “Steve’s savvy and energy will be yet another boost for this industry as we continue to expand our audiences and our impact.”

A look at Lacy’s accomplishments at Meredith includes overseeing the integration of the company’s largest acquisition in history, which was the Gruner + Jahr acquisition. Lacy is also known for the “aggressive expansion of Meredith’s marketing communications and digital businesses,” according to the Meredith Corp. Media Room.

Lacy is succeeding Michael Clinton, the president of Hearst Magazines.
