Playboy Digital Heading in Multiplatform Direction

Two recent hires at Playboy Enterprises Inc. herald a renewed commitment to its digital properties, as Matthew Mastrangelo joins the publisher as its first Chief Revenue Office and Cory Jones as senior vp of digital content.

Two recent hires at Playboy Enterprises Inc. herald a renewed commitment to its digital properties, as Matthew Mastrangelo joins the publisher as its first Chief Revenue Office and Cory Jones comes on board as senior vp of digital content.

Folio: reports that Mastrangelo will handle the integration of print, digital, and live events. His pedigree includes SELF, Rolling Stone, and Men’s Journal.

Jones, meanwhile, will lead the magazine’s digital expansion, tightening up some sites and defining the future of others, like the recently launched Playmates.com. He has worked at Mandatory.com, Maxim, and Defy Media.

“Cory is one of the most ingenious content creators in our business,” Playboy CCO Jimmy Jellinek said in a statement. “As we refocus our digital strategy I can think of no better executive to have watching over our digital portfolio. ”
