Today I want to talk about the nature of the Mequoda Summit and who comes to these biannual events.

3 types Mequoda Summit attendees

At every Mequoda Summit, you will find three different types of content producers and publishers.

#1 – Gold Members: Many publishers identify themselves as Mequoda System publishers. These individuals make up our Benchmark Systems, which are published by our Gold Members.

Mequoda Gold Members are people we’ve helped design content marketing systems for. We continue to monitor these systems while working with their publishing team on a regular basis.

At any given Mequoda Summit you will meet a variety of Gold Members throughout an array of industries. These innovative publishers are the heroes of Mequoda Systems because they help evolve the basic principles we all follow.

#2 – “Do It Yourself’ers” (DIY’ers): These Mequoda Summit attendees subscribe to the Mequoda Daily, read our free white papers and are Mequoda PRO members. They understand all or part of the system and follow many of the best practices. The pinnacle of their Mequoda experience is attending the Mequoda Summit, where they meet Mequoda Research Team members and Gold Members.

#3 – “Thinking About Its”: These people have heard about the Mequoda System, have heard about content marketing and have doubts about the future of old-fashioned interruptive marketing.

These attendees are wondering if they should pay more attention to their online presence and to their database of consumers. They are considering building a community where experts and audience members can interact on the topics they cover. Most come to the Summit wondering if the Mequoda System is right for their audience.

Often these attendees have been producing premium content largely paid for by the user. They were always audience-focused and intimately familiar with the needs of their readers.

On the other hand, we’ve also had sponsor-driven legacy media companies attend. These people, whose primary clients were advertisers, are now struggling with the concept of permission-based marketing.

It’s important to remember that all publishers are welcome to attend a Mequoda Summit, as long as they abide by the four core standards. We are a welcoming group aimed at offering insight and developing skills needed for success in the digital environment.
