Digital marketers have a lot of technical resources to help them collect and utilize data, but which technology is most valuable?

A new article from eMarketer sheds like on this question by reporting on a survey from Ascend2, which surveyed marketing professionals worldwide on the technologies they find most helpful.

At the top of the list was CRM software, which 55% of marketers reported being most important to them. Here’s a look at the rest of the list:

  • Marketing analytics software (49%)
  • Email marketing software (48%)
  • Marketing automatic suite (46%)
  • Content marketing software (18%)
  • Social media software (15%)
  • SEO software (14%)
  • Paid media software (6%)

Furthermore, the article discusses marketers’ opinions on data intelligence in general. “Fully 84% said it was “very important” for their marketing data to be high-quality and complete. Only 1% did not think this was critical for their segmentation and targeting efforts.”
