A Successful SEO Press Release Example

PR is so different now than it was even five years ago, nevermind ten or twenty years ago. Because major news outlets still require press releases, we still publish them, however there are secondary efforts too. After publishing, you may contact a few journalists that typically cover your niche. At Mequoda, we also keep track of their social media handles, too, so we can follow up with a Tweet.

When performed correctly, our SEO press release example will help you gain visibility for the topics you cover. After creating your press release, you should begin the SEO process. This is where online PR incorporates aspects of SEO campaigns. With your press release optimized for your keywords, you will be positioned to receive coverage on these topics.

Perhaps this is because the Internet allows for many types of content marketing. Or maybe it’s because a lot of success has been experienced through content marketing techniques and strategies.

The Integration of Social Media Marketing

How the Social Media Marketing Workshop at the Mequoda Summit West 2011 goes beyond typical social media courses

Recently I taught in London at FIPP’s Digital Publishing Course. Towards the end of the week-long course someone said to me, “I didn’t see social media in the curriculum for this course.”

After hearing that statement, Kim and I looked at each other. If we said Twitter once, we said it 20 times over the last four days.

Three Goals for Content Licensing

Major benefits for licensing existing content marketing materials include driving traffic, building brand and generating significant new revenue streams

2011 is the year of content.

2010 brought new advances in technology with tablet devices. The iPad was referred to as a game-changer for online publishers and that prediction may come to fruition this year.

Content Marketing: Three Elements to Success for Online Businesses in 2011

With the New Year here, let’s all prepare accordingly

Now that the holidays and over and most of us are back to work, it’s time to get situated for 2011.

Let’s face it, just because it’s a new year, it doesn’t mean things have abruptly changed for the online publishing and Internet marketing industries.

3 Reasons to Use Content Marketing in 2011

Are you citing these three reasons for engaging in content marketing?

The end of the year often signals a time of desired change in people. For those of us operating an online business, the New Year’s resolution should be to implement a content marketing strategy, or reevaluate your current one.

As this musing is typed, the ground in New England is being covered with snow flurries.

I, like the rest of Mequoda Group, am gearing up for our Mequoda Summit West 2011.

How to Appease Mobile Device Users

The holiday season is coming and mobile devices will play a big part

The specific uses of smartphones have evolved since they first hit the market. Text messaging and web browsing has turned into a mobile shopping channel.

Of course, texting and browsing are still important aspects of smartphones as those features also allow consumers to compare prices of products, find local stores and receive coupons from advertisers.

Press Releases: Do It Differently Online

Press release guidelines for the online PR market

Public relations performed offline is a bit different than online PR. They both incorporate the same components of creating relationships, yet do it in different ways. The truth is that, in some circles, ink on paper as a press release might get you laughed out of the newsroom.

Tips on How to Optimize Online Press Releases

This free report from Mequoda Group discusses how online PR is a way of gaining visibility from online communities

(Nationwide)—Online PR can help reach a big, direct audience online that is interested in the topics covered. Successful online PR has to be very focused. It needs to be designed specifically for the news being promoted and it should contain specific keywords that people are searching for. If it does not involve these two important components, chances are that the press release will not be picked up by search engines or seen by a large audience.

To begin engaging in online PR campaigns, start by creating a press release. Make the release between 250 and 400 words and newsworthy.

New Email Marketing Trends

Have you thought about using podcasts for building email circulation? With the popularity of iTunes and online radio like Pandora, podcasts are an easy way to reach eager listeners through the Internet.

Creating a podcast is not as technically challenging as it may sound. There are free software programs available that are fairly user-friendly. Try Audacity, FeedforAll or Easy Podcast.

Next, create a rapid conversion landing page. This is where users will “land” to download the podcast. The RCLP should be keyword-rich and highlight the content of your podcast.

Build Email Marketing List Circulation with Podcasts

This free report from Mequoda Group teaches how to use podcasts to build an email marketing list

(Nationwide)—The world of audio communication has found a home on the Internet. From podcasts to musical pieces, the media-rich environment has been reaching eager listeners for years. Content producers and online publishers looking to expand the ways in which they disseminate information should utilize this medium.

Podcasts aren’t just for the 30% of the population who are auditory learners, although it is likely more important to the people who fit into that category. Podcasts are for those who are on the go or those who prefer to listen opposed to read content.

Content Scheduling for Content Marketing

Structuring your content will help reduce your weekly stress and increase lead generation

If you’re experiencing a headache with your content creation, it’s time to focus on the content you’re putting out and the time frame in which you’re doing it.

To do this, build a new editorial calendar to put everything in perspective.

I am currently in the process of doing so myself. Every few months my current editorial schedule comes to an end. I typically have the ideas in my head of what needs to be created and when to do it, but putting it on paper – or an Excel document – makes it much easier to remember and keep up-to-date.

Our Online PR Tips, Tricks and Traps will be taking place on July 13th
As online communities continue to expand and evolve, online PR is further developing into a resource that can mean more visibility for a company. And we all know what more visibility can mean for a company; more email subscribers, customers and brand loyalty.

Are you targeting your communities and sharing newsworthy information with them? If not, you should be. Online PR doesn’t have to be time consuming, although it can be if that’s your goal. Our Online PR Tips, Tricks and Traps webinar will discuss different methods you can use, depending on your free time and monetary budget.

Online PR – A Way of Gaining Visibility

Three tips to help along the way

Online PR can be looked at as a component to SEO campaigns. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is all about building visibility by ranking in search engines. It isn’t about spending a ton of money to place ads in Google, rather it’s about creating keyword-rich content and getting that content to be found and ranked by Google bots.

As online PR is a popular topic of ours lately, I wanted to take some time today to discuss how online PR is truly a type of SEO campaigns. It is certainly not the only one, but it is one worth discussing.

How to Incorporate SEO Copywriting Into Your Press Releases

Increase links and promote your content throughout your website and search engines. Competition within online PR has grown immensely. In fact, it has reached the degree where many press releases are picked up by search engine features like Google News and Yahoo! News.

The press release factor can play a huge part in gaining incoming links and reaching the correct audience for your news. The more quality links you receive, the better reputation your content will have. The more audience members exposed to your content will likely mean more traffic and more conversions.

New PR Survey Tips Generously and Wisely

A New Survey on Public Relations Provides Some Up-to-Date Answers. In 1963, John Marston wrote a book, “The Nature of Public Relations,” saying that “public relations is planned, persuasive communication designed to influence significant publics.” Almost 50 years later, the definition hasn’t changed all that much, but how we go about those “persuasive communications” certainly has.

In a new study released yesterday by PRSourceCode, titled “2010 Top Tech Publications, The Evolution of Tech PR,” the state of public relations in the online world was summarized by questions like “How do you measure your social media impact?” and “How do you work to engage different media?”

Modern Press Release Guidelines

An introduction to online PR. It’s hard to contemplate the impact of the Internet. It has helped many industries and hurt others; it has given people the opportunity to find other like-minded individuals and information on topics they love. This is basically my approach to modern online PR.

My thought process has always incorporated the desire to spread the good word on interesting and beneficial things. Often times, I find that those products, services, or informational pieces don’t find the audience they deserve due to oversaturation. Let’s face it, there is a lot of clutter, and much of it isn’t nearly as positive as products that are hard to find. This is especially true within the online environment.

Quick guide to distributing press releases online

Free and paid ways to submit your press release as well as a how-to

Last October we published a list of online PR distribution services to consider for your next PR campaign. Well as the Internet winds change, so does the cost of free information, we suppose. However, lucky for us, just as a few of the previously free press release sites have turned paid, there have also been quite a few free sites to pop up.

A List of Online PR Distribution Services to Consider for your Next PR Campaign

Some online PR distribution services are free, and some are paid.

On the Internet, press releases take on new meaning. They provide search-engine visibility—an additional marketing opportunity that only some industries have figured out. Now that the public can read press releases directly on Internet news portals such as Yahoo! News or MSN News, it’s becoming more important to optimize press releases for online distribution. They must include keyword-rich headlines and body copy and must provide extensive links back to your website or a specific web landing page.

Old Media vs. “New Media” Reasons for Using PR to Drive Website Traffic

Audience development with the help of online PR
We see lots of publishers that still don’t understand how to integrate the Internet into their marketing operations. They understand the importance of coming up with a free giveaway, they understand the value of publicizing it, but they don’t understand how to convert website traffic into customers. Basically, it’s the old media/new media paradigm at work.

PR & Earned Media 101: Getting Reviewed & Mentioned Internet Marketing System Review

Getting on TV is just one of many ways to leverage other people’s media and drive website traffic—people who will log onto your website, register to download the free item, and, you hope, sign up for your free email newsletter. From simple search-optimized press releases to radio talk shows and local newspapers, PR is an effective Internet marketing tactic that works best when the release includes a crystal-clear reason why readers and viewers need to visit your website.
