It’s always good to see a native magazine app released. It means progress!

Talking New Media is reporting that the Bay Area News Group has launched its first native magazine app titled, Eat Drink Play.

D.B. Hebbard writes, “The app and its digital editions are free of charge to download. As the new digital magazine edition has to be produced weekly, the layouts are somewhat simplified, Pai told TNM. But the look is attractive – and, of course, the photography pops as it is displayed on an iPad.”

It’s interesting to note that the app has 15 digital back issues. This is a nice treat for folks that want to catch up on some older content.
