Pinterest’s Growth Depends On Targeting

Pinterest isn’t always in the conversation of the social media platforms to target for digital publishers and marketers. Facebook and Twitter tend to lead that discussion. However, the growth of Pinterest is something worth noting as it may become more significant in the future.

Pinterest’s growth has been huge this year. According to an article from Ad Age, “With its simple and visual-driven interface, the platform has grown its active users by 111% in the past six months.”

Due to this growth, Pinterest is focusing more on advertising in 2015. The ultimate success of this social platform will be dependent on the company’s ability to create a profitable advertising strategy with adequate targeting abilities.

So what will Pinterest’s strengths point to in 2015? According to Ad Age, Pinterest “offers the potential for nuanced insight into its users’ interests.” In theory, there is more knowledge associated with the kinds of pins shared by users.
