The invasion of the tablet will not be short lived. In fact, companies are already working on their own response to Apple’s iPad with their own tablet devices.

Best Buy has reported that they are developing a tablet, which will compete with the iPad and be priced lower for the budget minded individuals.

From the information tweeted by Best Buy Chief Technology Officer Robert Stephens, the tablet looks to be in its infancy and most likely will not see the store shelves for a while. Stephens posted pictures of the non-functioning prototype version, which was fairly basic and did not have the flair that the iPad has.

It has not been reported as to which operating system the Best Buy tablet will include, but it’s speculated that it’ll be either the Android or Windows 7.
