There is a huge delta based on price and source…

From a high of 20% for self-directed traffic (SEM and SEO) for low priced products ($20 to $50) to less than one percent for high priced products combined with traffic from impulse sources like banner ads…

And for prices north of $500 generally see near zero conversion rates in a direct conversion flow with the exception of live events.

This explains why order flows for products over $500 are usually free trial lead generators that lead to an assisted (telephone) sale.
