FADER, the music and lifestyle magazine, has hired a vice president of content and an editor-in-chief, reports Folio.

In addition to the new talent, the magazine is expanding its digital publishing efforts by launching a video unit. The article from Folio shares some information on the new hires. “Joseph Patel, formerly VP of content and creative for MySpace and head of production for Vice Media, will lead content operations at the music publication in a newly-created role. He’ll be joined by The FADER’s latest EIC, Naomi Zeichner, who comes over from BuzzFeed and takes over for Matthew Schnipper. The company also says it’s hired two video producers and plans to continue expanding the department.”

With the hire of new video producers and the dedicated unit, it’s clear that digital video will become a major part of the content strategy going forward. This medium is perfect to share music content with its devout audience.
