The freemium is a great way to introduce new audience members to your content.

Future plc is utilizing the power of free by offering free digital magazines editions to readers who purchase the print copy during the month of September.

According to the article, this “offer across all titles was a first for the publishing industry in the UK, and it was possible at Future because the group was making use of its “unique assets”.”

These assets include in-house publishing software that allows the company to print all of its own materials. This software was built in-house.

Those who purchase the September print edition will receive a code that allows them to download the digital issue for free. This concept came to the company after hearing feedback from readers.

According to Paul Layte, head of consumer reviews, “the promotion was aimed at all of their print customers as a way of providing additional value.”
