Is native advertising important to your publication? Native advertising comes with a various amount of value, and that is spurring an increase in spending on native advertising, and predictions of continued growth to come.

An article from eMarketer discusses the current state of US native ad spending and predictions up to 2018. In 2014, the article states that $53.2 billion will be spent on native advertising. In 2018, the prediction is a total spend of $58.8 billion.

This growth in spending comes due multiple reasons. According to eMarketer’s interviews of executives on topic of native advertising, “One appreciated its ability to drive viewers to owned media.”

The article also cites “a way to get around ad clutter”, and the nature of being “increasingly mobile” as reasons for liking and spending on native advertising.
