Instagram’s Impact On The Magazine Industry

One can imagine that magazines and Instagram go well together due to the connection with visualization. Great magazines have great imagery, and Instagram is all about sharing images.

A recent article from Iconosquare discusses Instagram’s place among the other social networks in MPA’s recent report on social media in the magazine industry.

According MPA’s data, Instagram has 20 million followers, putting it 4th in the study. According to the article from Iconosquare, “This study shows interesting and important statistics regarding Instagram. Indeed, Instagram is the social network that saw the most growth in number of likes or followers, in the magazine industry*”

The asterisk in that statement shares a definition of growth, as it pertains to the number or percent of Page Likes/Followers.

The MPA report also shared the growth of specific publications on specific social networks. For Instagram, the Natural Health magazine experienced a growth of 91% between August and October.
