Google E-books Comes to Web-Browsing Devices

The long-awaited e-bookstore is here

Google’s new e-bookstore, known as Google E-books, has officially launched.

The e-bookstore is currently filled with over 3 million books that users can view on any device with web browsing capabilities.

Unlike other publishers, Google’s e-bookstore model allows consumers to purchase titles from its store or through online vendors that sell books in EPUB and PDF formats. The purchases can then be read on any device with a web browser.

Since there is a lot of freedom with this type sales model, Google may end up getting a lot of affiliates marketing for the service.

The content from Google E-books can sync across many devices, and pick up where readers left off while switching between devices.

At its launch, many major publishers like Random House, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Hachette and others included titles in the e-bookstore.

Google E-books may become another valuable location for online publishers to sell books on the Internet.
